This 7000 series aluminum alloy powder is heat treated and classified to optimize mechnical properties, powder feeding, and sprayability using high pressure cold spray. It has been shown to produce dense and well bonded deposits on low to high strength aluminum alloys using helium, nitrogen, or air. It has been used for both non-structural and structural repairs as well as additive manufacturing. When sprayed with helium it has been shown to produce as sprayed mechanical properties between that of 6061-T6 and 7075-T6 in ultimate and yield strength, but slightly higher than AL03, with elongation ranging from 3-8%. This product is thermally processed, packaged, and shipped under an oxygen and moisture free, inert atmosphere. Powder is inertly packaged in 1-10 lbs packages. Each lot of powder is characterized to ensure quality with a demonstrated shelf life of 3 years.
