This material includes dense chromium carbide particles in a nickel-chrome to create a tough and wear resistant deposit that can also resist corrosion and high temperature oxidation. The material has been used in a wide range of applications including wear resistance, impact resistance, barrier corrosion protection, and even simple repair, due to the ease of application and consistent properties obtained including high bond strength on almost any substrate. It has been applied to steel, aluminum, titanium, and nickel based alloys using helium, nitrogen, or air to achieve dense and well adhered deposits with no known limit on thickness that can be applied. Hardness can range from 350-425 HV depending on spray conditions. Deposits can be machined by either milling, turning, grinding, or most other standard machining processes. VRC CRC02 has very high flowability and is inertly packed 1, 2.5, 10 pound packages for long shelf life and transport.
